National Award Winning Cheerleaders, Honey Bears & Golden Girls

All the Edison Cheerleaders received 12 awards at camp and a total of six superior ribbons earned in the categories of chant, chant evaluation, and cheer. The squad also won awards for outstanding technique, stunting safety, was named the most improved, and was presented the spirit stick all four days. This recognition is bestowed upon squads that exemplify outstanding spirit, discipline and hard work.  The Edison cheerleaders’ success also proves that – even in Texas - bigger isn’t always better. With eight members they comprised the smallest team competing against five large division high schools from Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.  Bryan Aguilar, Samantha Contreras and Kori Echeveste were named All-Americans.  Edison’s Honey Bears have been awarded the title of National Champs for many years.  Their energy is contagious at competitions.  When you see this team at football games and events, you will know why the HoneyBears, Golden Girls and Cheerleaders are highlighted across the nation in parades and events.
